JunJunJumps!

Days in the life of JunJun and Beb.... Since we noticed folks were getting whiplash trying to catch up with us, we figured freezing ourselves in time and space would be a good thing. Don't forget to surf the Archives! ;)

A Family Vacation: Becker to Brainerd, MN

Monday, October 20, 2008

Vacation time finally! We planned this way ahead in advance so that we all could get together and spend lots of time at the lakes.

But back at home...

I went out to enjoy Beb's parent's surroundings. Loved their forest out back.

Mmm, chokecherries

Grandpa P harvesting the chokecherries for jam and Bella with a frog

Back off, I am armed and dangerous even with a towel on!

Timber!!!

Loads of work to harvest for just a few jars of jam!

MMMm... pool...

Grandpa regaled us with a mini-concert he practiced for. It was beautiful and heartwarming. We love you Grandpa P!

Even with a failing sight and poor lighting, Grandpa played on and we all loved it and got it on video for posterity.

At 87, Grandpa kicks accordion-booty :)

Celebrating Dad's retirement!

Mom and Dad and a spare..

I was in charge of prepping the brochettes for dinner. Shrimp anyone?

En route to the Lakes...
ZZZZZZzzzzZzZzzz

In another car..

ZZZZZZ

ZZZZzzzzZZZZ

PRICELESS!

At the resort on Gull Lake up in Brainerd...

The little ones made us fun clothes.

Junjun manning the pizza for dinner...

It was like feeding an army!

Fishing and feeding the ducks of the dock

Hallie on the speed demon. Vrooom!

So while the gang was showing off their moves, I was in charge of dinner for this evening.

Grandma and Grandpa A came over to join in the festivities.

A dragonfly came over to visit as well.

Awesome shot! Jess is a natural I tell you.

Dinnertime

What the heck is that? It was a huge fungus growing off of the base of this tree in near the house. I have never seen anything quite like it (on land).

Some random shots...

....our home is over there....

"No, I am not checking email"
"Yes it keeps me insulated from the grill"

"I know your future"

"Sure thing, fire away"
"Here you go, my little seal"

"Damn, contraption of a game. What is this?"
"What is the question again?"

Love on an ATV

ZZZZZzzz

Compare and contrast: slow vs. FAAAAAAST

Look! I am kneeboarding!

Look! I am not!

Wicked wicked 360 turn on the kneeboard by Mike while going over the wake backwards! It was incredible.

Tennis anyone? For the record, I beat Beb 6-0, 6-0 :)

Who knew that Dad could sculpt. In general, they all suck in Crainium :)

Dad's memory box

Time for more aqua fun and sun...

Look at her go! A natural just like Mom who got up on the FIRST try. Geesh. The boys bow their heads in shame.

My quintessential lake fantasy bliss: on the dock with the feet on the water with nary a care to think about except to count the number of baby loons passing by.

My last night with the family with sumptuous fish dinner and Scattergories. I rock in this game.

Welcome to their forest...

Grandpa P with his accordion playing a familiar tune.
I was trying to upload the longer movie but Blogger would not let me :(

Vacation time at Gull Lake, Brainerd, MN!

Vroom!
Mike and Hallie's beautiful jetski -- such a wonderful machine. Love you guys for getting it!
I did hit 50 mph one time :)

Tony the Natural doing a 360 degree turn on the kneeboard!

Mike on the kneeboard trying to jump the wake.

Beb showing off that being a natural is part of their family's genetic code.
Dang it! On the first try she schooled us all! So did Mom!
