JunJunJumps!

Days in the life of JunJun and Beb.... Since we noticed folks were getting whiplash trying to catch up with us, we figured freezing ourselves in time and space would be a good thing. Don't forget to surf the Archives! ;)

Hola Madrid! (the Quest to learn the Lisp)

By some divine virtue, we were able to make it to Madrid! Weather was a lot nicer (like SF) than NYC. We hopped it to our hostal quickly (pronounced "hoththal" for the lisp) to check in and get out to the Prado! I am so glad we were here finally after all the drama. Gracias! or Grathias! or Grathia!

En route to our hostal in the Cortes district, with me on the balcony....great rates on these places....and absolutely great location as we just walked down to the Prado.
Oh, along the way was the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza....we'll visit some other time...check out the banner :)

The Prado was awesome. We got to see their permanent collection. I loved all the Goyas especially the dark and gruesome ones like the one with Saturn eating :) They had a collection from Tintoretto on display.

Weather was nippy was sunny. Madrid is a gorgeous city with amazing architecture and open spaces.
However.....when it comes to their salads, they pale in comparison to CA. Here we are having a snack at Rodilla which is a sandwich chain. Inexpensive food but my idea of a salad should have more chlorophyll. I hope for better fare later.

Beb at the Estacion de Atocha. We have one day in Madrid today and off for two days in Sevilla departing from this station.
Who would think it had a tropical garden inside?
That is the Palacio de Communicaciones (or communicathioneth) in the Plaza de Cibeles.

El Corte Ingles (a department store) is everywhere selling nearly everything!!!
The plaza de Cibeles at night
The Gran Via of Madrid

Ok, short day in Madrid....loving it already but we are off to Sevilla!
