It was nice to be back home so we went back to our modus operandi of hiking and food. We sauntered over towards the Castro. With New Year's coming, we invited ourselves to R&R's abode for some languid repast of fave food, libations, and festivities.

Now that is a Power Puff girl!

Our dear R&R in their Monterey abode with our delish skewers, scallops, and of course, vino.

Full bellies, we sauntered over to the downtown area for the Yuletide Parade and concert.

We then visited R&R's folks we served us some of yummy goodies. Off to bed as we go to Point Lobos tomorrow....

Beautiful park--amazing it took us so long to actually visit it. It was quite popular that day as the park was full. So we parked outside and walked on in. The views were astounding and peaceful. All that walking made us hungry again....So R&R mentioned this cookie in a cast iron pan that just fits the bill...

So the place is called the Forge...

Here is the cookie-- fit for four...

...not anymore...

Back to SF, with the glorious weather, we are off hiking again...

We walked on down to Crissy Field and played for a spell

....enjoying the views of Alcatraz and Aquatic Park...

Finishing off our day in North Beach with some sumptious hot chocolate (served in bowls at Boulangerie) and a yummy pizza! What a way to start the year.
