V-day week...
V-day was spent in the city during a sunny and bright day--absolutely romantic. I was at home and got a chance to meet up with Beb at her work with a surprise picnic lunch of goodies from La Boulangerie--macarons, chocolate hazelnut butter croisants, prosciutto and brie baguette sandwiches, quiches, and pink lemonade. Bon appetit!
Beb and I at the Embarcadero/Ferry Building area, enjoying the feast and fun of the sun for V-day. Later during that evening, we decided to go on a walk down to Fisherman's wharf as I was jonesing for some clam chowder...

It was gorgeous (and warm) night, very reminiscent of indian summer. The waters at Aquatic Park were still and silent except for the intermittent waves crashing softly onto shore--a glorious night.The next day....warmer weather! Time for a picnic in the park, so off to the GG Park arboretum! We packed ourselves with some goodies--quiche, walnut scallion bread (La Boulange of course), tomato salad, and Beb's freshly baked coconut chocolate cake.

Time to unwind and catch up with some reading and some sunshine...

We sauntered after our picnic spell to the museum quad....
There was booming DJ music from the quad....it was James Kim's memorial--the father who died of hypothermia trying to save his family who were stranded in the snow after Thanksgiving. It was a joyous celebration of life with lots of people dancing and enjoying the beautiful day. Only in San Francisco.....
We then moved onto Stowe Lake to check out the row boats. They were closed for the day so we will come back. The cherry blossoms were amazing.
The next day.....Happy Chinese New Year! Gung Hay Fat Choy! It is the year of the Golden Pig which happens every 600 years.
Time to rejoice and eat some dim sum for good luck! We picked some up on our walk through Clement.
Then off to GG Park, then through Haight-Ashbury....the weather was still nice but a tad chilly with stronger breezes--definitely need a sweater today...
We capped off the afternoon with some chocolate drinks from the Bittersweet Cafe down the street. We highly recommend the hot chai chocolate.
