Another year older and none the wiser...
We spent the foggy sunday afternoon at Stern Grove listening to Haitian and Belize-ian (Garifuna) music. We got a prime spot on a promontory overlooking the field and the stage. Despite the cool weather, we were cozied up to our drinks and snacks. We even saw one of Beb's UCSC housemates from her building in the Village--Heather who was handing out free Dove chocolates. She said that she is teaching English in Thailand and going back this September. Small world huh?

After the festival, we decided for another jaunt down the hill. We went to Lettus to pick up some goodies for dinner by the Palace of Fine Arts where we had a million-dollar dinner view and delish yummies to-go.
Funny enough, a random lady came right by us and asked if she could join us on the bench. We said sure and welcomed her in. She apparently has been driving for hours from Clearlake to see Bob Dylan in concert and wanted a respite from the drudgery. She apparently also was from Santa Cruz. We started gabbing about SC vs SF life and how nice it is to chat with SC folks. She sat for a spell and wished us goodbye and was off to the nearest coffee shop for some organic brew before trekking back to SC. Small world again indeed!
Beb and MumMonday we had Birgit flying in from Oregon.
We had dinner at La Med for some righteous mediterranean food and back to the apartment for some specially made trifle!

YUM! Whipped cream, nutella, chocolate pudding, brownies, and rasperries! Oh MY!Happy Birthday to me!
Tuesday was BDAY. Uneventful day as I stayed home to telecommute but Beb surprised me with a dinner date to Le Colonial (lecolonialsf.com) for some French Vietnamese cuisine.
It was divine!
What did we have? For wine I had a St. M Riesling 2006 from Pfalz, Germany which was ridiculously delicious and Beb had a Cadox from Spain which was yummy as well. Appetizers were duck spring rolls and stuffed squash blossoms; entrees where sea bass in banana leaves and grilled scallops; and dessert was apple beignets ;)
Thank you so much everyone for all of your calls and e-cards and visits. It means so much to me (now that I am getting older) to know that you all remembered. I cherish each and every one of you. I can't wait to see you all again and am truly grateful and blessed that you all are a part of my life.Love, Junjun :)
